Perspectives are countless. Changes are constant.
One day, I walked out my front door to find someone had tossed a pair of iconic Converse Chuck Taylor shoes over the power line near my house. As an obsessed photographer, I took a photo of the shoes that morning.
A few days later, we had a late-season snow, and I took another photograph of those shoes - one that was completely different from the first. It was then that an interesting idea began to form.
And thus, a photo project was born: The Daily Shoes Project.
It was a creative challenge I set for myself: through shooting one singular subject every day, I challenged myself to find a way to see things differently, to consciously look at life through a different set of eyes each day, with a fresh perspective. It was incredibly challenging, interesting and satisfying to work within the restraints of this project. Creativity thrives in restriction!
I did this until the project ended organically when the power company came through and removed the shoes.
